I was a very opinionated little girl, and an avid reader and photographer, who dreamed of leaving home.

The world of disability is a challenging, surprising and truly miraculous place - it’s where I grew up. I wrote a play about it when I was in acting school at twenty-two. That’s when I really started writing.
